The 40’s

The Go Anywhere. Do Anything.® Jeep® Brand 4×4 vehicle was invented in the 1940’s as a way to provide transportation for soldiers. A war hero itself, the first model was a huge hit, and put Jeep on the map in terms of 4×4 technology.

The 50’s

This was the decade where the number of recreation vehicles spiked, therefore a car to fit those needs was needed. Jeep® Jamborees were released in seven models, and were a huge hit. Sales were through the roof.

The 60’s

Taking another step in the direction of the buyer’s needs, the Jeep® Wagoneer was a staple of the decade. No matter where people needed to get, they got there in this bad boy. There were 14 models to choose from.

The 70’s

The iconic 2-door, full-size Cherokee (SJ) was born in the 1970’s into a generation that was always going. Fit for someone on the go, this car stirred the pot in terms of style, and even took home the award for 4×4 of the Year. Sales broke records during this decade!

The 80’s

The 80’s was a decade of firsts: the first Jeep® Cherokee (XJ); the first compact 4-door SUV; the first UniFrame construction; and the first full-time 4×4 system with shift-on-the-fly capability.

The 90’s

The 90’s was a big decade for Jeep! In 1993 the iconic Jeep® Grand Cherokee (ZJ) was born, in 1997 the Wrangler (TJ) was put on the market, and in 1999 the Grand Cherokee (WJ) was introduced. Sales were flying high.

The 2000’s

The 4-door Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon set style records in in 2003. Jeep also dabbled in the small cross-utility segment with the release of the Compass and the Patriot.

The 2010’s

That all brings us to the present, where Jeep is a well-known brand that has set many standards over the years. Sales are the highest they’ve been in 75 years.
