One of Owensboro’s favorite fall celebrations returns this weekend. Gather your friends, family, and neighbors, and make plans to attend Reid’s Apple Festival 2017.
Reid’s Apple Festival
The festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 22 from noon to 6 p.m. Enjoy more than 90 vendor featuring handmade crafts and live demonstrations. There are also around 20 carnival rides and activities that are fun for kids and grown-ups alike. And don’t worry about going hungry. There’s more than apples to eat at this festival. Choose from eight different food booths, including Daviess County Pork Producers who will be cooking their famous pork sandwiches.
New this year, kids will enjoy trying out the Reidland playground. The area also includes a petting zoo and horse. While the kids play, enjoy live music entertainment at the newly-expanded picnic area.
So many people attend this festival each year that parking has become its own fundraiser. There are three nonprofit groups in Owensboro that man the parking operations at the Apple Festival. So rest assured that your car will be safe and your money will go to a good cause.
