Celebrate Independence Day At Owensboro’s Fourth Of July Party

family celebrating the 4th of july

Today is the Fourth of July! It’s time to celebrate your independence, graze on some BBQ, and watch sparks fly once the sun sets. If you live near Owensboro, make plans to head over to the city of Owensboro’s annual All-American Fourth of July Event. Director of Public Events, Tim Ross, explained it best, “We will have a great party downtown again, great food, and live music before the fireworks to cap off the holiday weekend.”

The Details

You will find the fun at Smothers Park starting at 5:00 p.m. The ZoCephus & FunkNasty band will get the red, white, and blue party started with tunes from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., The Downtown Band will take the stage and wow the crowd from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. At 9:15 p.m., you’ll want to sit back and relax with your loved ones and enjoy the 15-minute fireworks show. Bring some blankets or chairs for seating.

Sparks will fly off the barges and throughout locations within Owensboro, including the Owensboro Sportscenter, Owensboro Warehouse Leasing, and Centre Court. Please note that these locations will not be open to the public to ensure everyone stays safe on this special holiday. Now that you have the event information, call up your friends and family and let them know what’s on their calendar for the rest of the day!
