Two of Owensboro’s most popular events come together this September, so grab a lawn chair and get ready for the Downtown ROMP Air Show After Party! After planes have flown overhead for the airshow, the outdoor stage at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum will feature returning acts from the massive ROMP music festival.
When and Where
The ROMP after party will be held on Saturday, September 14 at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Museum. It begins at 12 p.m. and should run until 10:30 p.m. A nearby parking garage will be available for the event. The Hall of Fame is located at 311 West 2nd Street, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301.
Admission
Tickets start at $15, and a VIP experience is also available for $200. General admission offers access to seating on the lawn for a great view of the air show. VIP tickets grant access to a special balcony view and event space on the third floor of the Independence Bank. Children 12 years old and younger may enter for free if accompanying a general admission adult ticket holder.
The ROMP Air Show After Party
Come out during the air show to watch the aerial acrobatics from the downtown lawn, then stick around for a full evening of music. Throughout the day, you can enjoy great food from various vendors, and if you’re thirty, you can chill out with one of the outdoor bar stations. The Hall of Fame and Museum will also be screening the ‘80s classic Top Gun in the theater, just in case you haven’t gotten your fill of high-soaring excitement. If you opt for the VIP treatment, you’ll enjoy a few special perks in addition to the elevated vantage point. The space will host a catered meal, as well as hors d’oeuvres for upscale grazing. Live Music
The after party will host four acts that have all previously performed for huge crowds at the ROMP music festival. This year’s bands are:
- Hogslop String Band – 4 p.m.
- Rumpke Mountain Boys – 5:15 p.m.
- Scythian – 7 p.m.
- Dustbowl Revival – 9 p.m.
