Bluetooth pairing is the best thing to happen since sliced bread. This is one of the first things you will want to do when you get behind the wheel of a new Toyota. If you are new to car technology, don’t be intimidated. We have step by step instructions to show you how you can properly set up your phone to use hands-free calling, audio streaming, and more!
First things first. Make sure you are parked safely and not on the road driving when setting up your Bluetooth. The first step to set up is to select the “Menu” button on your infotainment screen and then choose “Setup.”
The next step is to take out your smartphone and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
Once you turn your Bluetooth on, select the “Bluetooth” button on your vehicle’s screen and then select “Add New Device.”
Next, you will want to choose “Device Name.”
Don’t let all the random numbers and letters throw you off. After choosing the device name, check the display on your phone. If the pin matches the one on your vehicle’s screen, it is time to choose “Pair.”
Once you select to pair your device, you will see “Connecting” displaying on the screen of your vehicle.
Once it is connected, there will be a message that appears saying, “You may need to allow message access on your phone.” You can choose “Skip” if you do not want your phone notifications paired with your vehicle.
If you would like notifications from your phone go to your infotainment screen, go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone and choose “Show Notifications.”
Once this is done, you will be set up and ready to go!
